Animal Welfare Attorney
J. Jeffrey Holland, Attorney at Law
Holland & Muirden has served as a
special prosecutor for animal cruelty
cases in over 20 counties. As long-standing members of the
Animal Legal Defense Fund, we pursue a
broad range of animal welfare issues,
from veterinary malpractice, to estate
planning for the care of a pet, to
zoning issues relating to animals.
Jeff has represented many individuals
with a wide variety of animal welfare
legal issues. He has also represented a
number of animal welfare organizations,
including HSUS, the Animal Legal Defense
Fund and humane societies in Allen,
Ashland, Auglaize, Clark, Franklin,
Fulton, Geauga, Hocking, Holmes, Lake,
Logan, Lorain, Lucas, Medina,
Montgomery, Morrow, Portage, Summit,
Wayne, Wood and Wyandot Counties.
Jeff has served as special prosecutor
for animal cruelty cases in over a dozen
courts in Ohio for the past 13 years. He
has conducted humane officer training
for the Ohio Humane Agents Association
and Ohio Federated Humane Societies, and
has conducted seminars on animal cruelty
law for the Ohio Veterinary Medical
Association, Ohio State University, and
the Montana Veterinary Medical
Association.
Jeff helped to draft S.B. 221, the
first significant change in Ohio's
animal cruelty law in over a hundred
years. Jeff and his wife, Marjorie, live
in Medina County with 5 dogs, 2 cats, 6
horses, 4 sons, chickens, fish and occasional foster
animals.
